(In the USA)
What do you guys think? I'd love to see him elected, and afterwards, see the Socialist Democratic (and some Fascist Republicans) Congress ousted from power also. Ron Paul would like to restore Federalism and states' rights to Government (basically just to decentralize our Government.)
A lot of people seem to like the catch phrase "divided we fail." I reject this. In fact, division is about the best safeguard from tyranny. Think about it, a lot of people like to talk about "bi-partisanship". I reject this as well. When Governments are at peace with themselves, they are likely to be at war with the citizenry.
Milton Friedman once said:
"I say thank God for government waste. If government is doing bad things, it's only the waste that prevents the harm from being greater."
This applies to legislation as well. Think about what happened after 9/11. There was a sort of national unity, both in Congress, and among the people. What emerged from this unity was an ugly sort of nationalism, not unlike nazism. Legislation like the USA PATRIOT Act was rushed through Congress. This was a result of fear and unity.
