Wordpress is the #1 cms out there. Its so easy to use. So easy to make almost any kind of site out of it. Heck i even made a gaming site out of it. Just look through the wordpress codex and check out some of the plugins. WP is easy to design for and code. As well as mybb

Wordpress is good, the best in my opinion. There are many themes available to take away that cliche blog look.

Smashing Magazine: 100 Free High Quality WP Themes

Try those websites above. The first two are premium (paid) themes, the last link provides free ones. Good luck.

If you got a good CMS that you are happy with and the template for it, I can code the template for phpBB3 for you to make it look EXACTLY the same... I promise... I did that to my site and it works great.
