i created my account about 10 days ago & in that time the vndv server(s) has gone down countless times

its down now , has been for the past 3 or 4 hours

is this typical of vndv sites? ,

i realise they are free, but seriously its the servers are going to be down all the time, whats the point really?

Be ready! If I were you I would pay for hosting...

vndv.com is just not as reliable as other webhosts.

If you cant afford paying for webhost, get free hosting at http://cedhost.com

Wow, thanks. It's an awesome host and I've been dying for a good one for years. FTP is like 100 times faster than here and appears to be even ad-free (small text ad, but that's not too bad). Best one ever.
I liked vndv really a lot, but the reliability sucked A LOT. It's offline every other day now and die-slow for some reason.

I've gotta put in a good word for vndv; the reason they've been down so much recently is because they are in the process of fixing the issues they've had on the server. This really isn't the usual level of reliability they offer. I've used them for the past 9 months or so (this account is the second I've used with them, as the 1st is my personal account, and this one is my team's...) and in that time, I don't ever recall my site actually going down until last night. It's back up again today, though, and that's good enough for me. Comparatively speaking, I would say they are one of the better free web hosts out there.
