I noticed that MySGLclient version is 4.0.24 while the server version is 5.0.27. There was a warning that this may cause a problems. Can the client version be brought up to at least the same version? My desktop runs version 5.0.67 for both server & client.
Also I was NOT able to exit phpMyAdmin, it kept asking for username and password (which I kept giving) and I just close the web page.

Doesn't anyone else has this problem?? I don't like the idea of closing the browser in order to get out of my PHPmyAdmin! 
I also have it. I'm not very keen on it either, but it's not unsecure.

I know its over 2 months old (the thread) but I don't have that problem so I am no sure what to say about it as I use this server for my friend and he has an account and I liked the site so much i joined for my own site. also I use firefox so if u are using IE(any version) it may be that. The only thing I am having a problem with is trying to update the 2 mysql things as I don't want any problems to happen in my site.

I have the logout problem too, but I think it IS actually logging out despite the login dialog appearing again.
I am using firefox too, so the problem isn't browser related.
I think it's probably harmless but just a bit irritating.
