I have played with a couple of site search programs one is jrank the other is google site search
both get really good reviews neither of them is working with my site. I can run any search and it
will find absolutely nothing. I have the description and keywords setup in my meta tag the pages
are made in pure html so their is no reason that I know of why the crawl/spiders should not be able
to accurately read my site.

The only thing I could think of is that these programs both use API for their search is that not supported here?

And if I have the vndv domain does that complicate manners any for setting up site search?

I don't know what jrank is, or why it isn't working, but the reason google site search isn't working might be because your site isn't indexed in google, try googling your site and see if it brings anything up.

If it's not, afaik, the easiest way to be indexed in google is to make an rss feed (can be an empty one with the <link> tag set to your site) and add it to your google customized home page (google.com/i), and it will be indexed automatically.

Thanks for the info. That is really interesting about the rss feed. Jrank is a program that is supposed to provide free search service for your site you set up your site information they crawl your site you paste the code into your site and so forth sounds great but so far has not worked properly for me. I am also working with isearch2 a php program for setting up search capability. So that I can have or at least know how to operate something outside of google search.

Check out the search on my site, http://mortalis.eu

It's really simple, you just setup a google adsense search, and it does everything for you. There's even a wizard on how to create it, step by step
