Just wanted to get some ratings for my first website template. I've been doing CSS for about 2 weeks now, and this is my first project, so please don't hate. I just want to know what I should do to improve this project.

Template so far:

Thanks,

I am going to be honest with you, it really does look like a first template but its pretty good for a first template.

I think you are putting to much gradients, and not placing them correctly, The glows are to hard and does not make the template look very nice.

An other thing is to be 'perfect', lots of people don't really care where things are place in a template or if there is a 1px line showing somewhere for any possible reason but it is very important.

- the header : it has a black line on the very top... but its only 30percent of your whole header, i believe its a mistake or miscalculation, but should not be there...
- the links : each links have a 1px square on the bottom right which i believe should be cleaned...

You need to make it fluid, right now you have a box... but if your text is bigger than your box ? what you gonna do ? scrollbar ?nah, should make a repeat of the content area with the css : background-repeat:repeat-y; and probably forget about a gradient in the content area.

THe background can use some style too, probably a tiny, VERY TINY gradient from lighter gray to darker gray in about 10percent of your image...

It can use some work, but you just need to practice...

Good Luck

Thank you very much for the feedback! I am glad someone has an honest opinion for once! I will clean this up and style a bit more and show you my progress later on ;D

i have to be honest with you... you need a lot of work with ur design.. the box with the red gradient on the header.? its like
you just dropped that one out of nowhere.. Im trying to say that., the header should not stand out like that... it should
blend in from the design...not overpower everything...

just a thought ok. work it out.

Nice going on the big bump.

It's very nice for your first template. Although I wouldn't use it, personally.

One question, though; what is that font you used in the banner? I've been searching the internet constantly, and I haven't found it.

for a starter, the output is fine. you just have to practice more. visit websites with tutorials to enhance your skills.
