Hi All,

Is there a way to join 2 Excel spreadshhets with different column headers so that the merged result will have all the culumns with no duplicate records?

Here is what I want to do:

spreadshhet 1-->

Name................Email..................Phone

John Smith........j@smith.com

spreadshhet 2-->

Name................Email..................Phone

.......................j@smith.com....(627) 444-1281

merged spreadsheet ---->

spreadshhet 3 -->

Name................Email..................Phone

John Smith.......j@smith.com....(627) 444-1281

Notice that the common element in both initial spreadsheets is the email address. Is this possible without duplicating records?

I thank you for your time and look forward to your answer.

Warmly,

I doubt that excel will have such a function. If you export the files as .csv, it would be possible to write a program to do it, but I'm not exactly sure how I'd manage it - I haven't spent that long thinking about it!

Swordz is correct. I have never seen that sort of function in Excel. You could search for a custom program to do it but it could be costy.

Jacob.
