It's irritating how a vague and rushed reply by a certain moderator resulted in my thread being closed. I did search and all the advice I got was to shorten my hostname and username, which I did.
It still doesn't work.
I'd appreciate help.

Well that certain moderator has news for you. You can't have searched hard enough becuase the answer has been posted just over 31 times.
And furthermore, the information provided was too vague to help you with anything else.
Jacob.

I have seen ten threads pertaining to this topic and in all those threads the answer has been the same: Reduce the characters in your username, which I have done.

Obviously I have. The names are given in the boxes.

You made it shorter, yet in the ZCHP screenshot it is too long? You may have to register another account with a shorter name.

Narzy - yes it has been mentioned before, but this is a slightly tricky problem to understand.
The maximum length for your user name/database name is 16 characters. As your site name is 15 characters, 16 with the _, this is already too long. The solution is to make another site with a shorter name, set up the database etc on that account, then connect to that account from your first account.
I hope this is clear enough.
Sorry...
