I have tryed everything i can think of to allow my database to be accepted for phpbb but nothing works

Localhost doesnt work
vndv.com doesnt work

all my usernames and passwords dont work. someone please help!!!!!

This doesnt work for me either, I am trying to set up a forum for waverlyforum.vndv.com and this is the error I get:

Could not connect to the database, see error message below.
Access denied for user '<username>'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

The database name is:
waverlyforum_superbot

I will not tell you the username or password for security reasons. Anyone got any ideas?

Telling me the username won't matter for your security. It's the password that is the one that you need to safeguard. Look around the forum and you'd find your answer.

Based on what you've told me, your database name is 21 characters. You need to have only 16 characters, so you need to remove 5 characters for it to work. And my guess is, your username is longer that 16 characters as well so you might need to adjust that too. Good luck.

I know that. I meant it just doesn't matter with me. And most people make mistakes with the username in this case.

my problem is fixed. but thanks for the help. the sql server name was too long.

well your database name is 21 characters long and the site will only allow a database name to be 16 characters long if you expect it to work.

also i get the same thing and my database name is only 15 characters long (vlandteam_forum).
