OK i'm a newbie rolleyes.gif

I have a question:

If i make a website, and i put an iframe in it to a YouTube page that has a video in or i have an Embed YouTube video IN AN IFRAME in my website... Does this mean that if someone watches the streaming video it will take up my bandwidth?

If you don't understand my question please tell me so

Thank You,

No. You'll be using YouTube's bandwidth.

I see. So if i embed a video in an iframe then it won't use any of my bandwidth but Youtubes. Does youtube even allow this? I mean i will be using a lot of youtube videos on my site which will use THEIR bandwidth. They don't mind?

EDIT: Btw, if i put an Download link in an Iframe from another one of my websites which is not from Zymic will that use up my bandwidth? or will it use the bandwidth of the website that has the download link? thankss

As far as I know, as long as the actual file is not hosted in zymic servers, it won't use any of the zymic bandwidth from your account.

If you link to a file in your zymic account and posted that link on a webpage not hosted in your zymic account, well.. you can't do that anyway since that function is disabled here.

But if you link to a file not hosted in your zymic account and posted that link on a webpage, the only bandwidth that you will use is when that webpage is called, not the file.

Why would you put the youtube videos in iframes? Why don't you just use the embed code given by youtube?

And eitherway, if you link to (even in YOUR html page) to download another file, it WON'T use your bandwidth. The only way you would use YOUR bandwidth is if you upload the file to your account and give a link to that file on your site.

Well the reason i want to put evryth8ing in iframes is that i doubt that 6GB storage would be enought for the website i'm planning. If i upload the webpages on other websites etc, and i put an iframe.... It would proably be good smile.gif

You lot helped me a lot Thanksss cool.gif

You don't need to put them in a frame... I don't think I can explain it any other way... code (the characters like the youtube embed code) only SHOW the youtube video on your site. The only bandwidth you'll use is a few bytes for the code, the only space you'll take in your account is a few bytes for the code. Probably less than making an iframe for all the videos. It's also easier and will look better if you just use the embed code.
