WHOIS is a database that stores the information of the domain legal owner;
so yours is here.

who is are jerks because the do not ask your permission to get your info, so they just put your number / address / name / last name / how many times you had sex last week... and all that kind of info... (joking for the last part)
also, some hosts take an advantage of the situation by selling the way to remove your infos from Whois... like godaddy for example.
some hosts like 1&1 remove it dirrectly without paying.
some hosts like ieurop and are even more jerks and tells you to fuck off and they can't do anything to help you out...
seriously Whois sucks.
The only good thing about whois is that it gives you the domain name infos.. which is all we need, not the owners info... i mean, ok i like to know where is this domain from, who i can contact if i want, the registrar, the date owned, the date expired... and all these good things.... but come on.. the owners information ? available for ANYONE ?
tomorrow a guy hates me and wants to kick my ass his just gonna put my email over a whois database and somehow get my infos...
WE ARE NOT PROTECTED... ITS THE END OF THE WORLD !!!! no joking about that one as well... it wasnt funny, that i understand... but seriously... nothing is protected anymore.

Nope, nothing is protected, thats why buying protection for domain names is essential if you dont get it free.

When you buy a domain you agree for your information to be available to the public...
