Hey guys i have taken up uuuq hosting.
I wanted to install phpbb3 forums on it . I installed phpbb33 abt 3 times and it didnt install correctly but now i have installed it correctly. I deleted all wht i installed before. But DiskSpace is still being used more even when i cant see the files on my directory. Also i cant delete some of my files but i can rename them.

So in the main folder of my hosting. There are these things ,

smile.gif) "phpBB3" folder ( My forums which are fine and working correct )
smile.gif) "Unused" folder ( Containing some folders which are empty but i cant delete them )

I want to delete this Unused folder somehow . it contains phpbb3 old files which i have renamed but i cant delete them.
I had deleted them 1st but the next time i installed i am not able to delete them. I think this is the confirm BUG in the apache.
Plz some admin should delete this folder for me and should also delete some of my old database files if they have'nt been deleted . I just want these things ,

smile.gif) phpbb3 folder
smile.gif) index.php file
smile.gif) my present database which i cant see.

All the rest files should be deleted cuz my bandwith and Memory are being used. Thanks in Advance.

Cool! =] Why do you want them deleted? They are not visible anyways. laugh.gif

I had the same trouble also when installing my phpbb3 forum. But I finally discovered the problem. Apparently I needed to chmod the folders & files left behind that I couldn't delete to I believe 777 (or so that all the boxes are checked or the read/executable/writeable are all checked in all the columns). That seemed to do the trick and then I was able to delete them. I hope that helps you somehow. smile.gif

I'm afraid the admins will not delete your files for you. Tbh, if no one acceses them, it won't affect your bandwidth at all, and your memory is obviously fine, or you would have all the files you need up there.

What error are you getting exactly? It's possiblt that the folders have some .htaccess or .htpasswd files in them, which are hidden. Most ftp clients have an option to view hidden files, so do that, then delete them again.

nah its 100% some bug in there.
cuz wht happened uesterday was that all the folders of that were empty except my forums phpbb3 folder.
forums were working fine wid everything but wht happened was all my forum permissions changed to 777 which were 755 previous day. and then my forums started malfunctioning. i was able to set some permissiosn to original but i am not ablke to still mkae them original
