A bit more information would help. Has this just started? Has the script ever worked? What have you changed recently?

I too am having this problem, it worked fine for the last week or so, then since it came back from the blank page error yesterday I have been getting these errors.

Mysql is down on vndv. And what sucks is mysql is running at near 100% capacity on zzl.org. So much for vndv working after the big server transfer. I like zymic and am oing to stick with them, but this really bites.

Yeah. Thats due to the MySQL database beeing unavalable.

Stick tight. Once it's fixed that error should be gone.

Since the Forum cannot connect with the information in the database, for anyreason, it "echos" a message to you telling you whats wrong.

Funny how the MySQL gives you an error message stating SafeMode Restrictions. hehe. pretty misleading.

I don't think its a mysql error, most of the page works u just get a lot of errors at the top, but you can still view topics and threads. However a dirty fix (so far) seems to be to edit the functions.php page within phpbb:

Not sure if this is causing any damage, however I don't think so.

phpbb has its own backup for realpath and I think our servers now have a security tag on this funciton.

If you open functions.php and do a search for realpath, about the 3rd one down is:

if (!function_exists('realpath'))

if you change that to:

if (function_exists('realpath'))

it will force phpbb to use its own included realpath, only problem is occasionally you may get 404 errors as the included phpbb-realpath doesn't seem as good as built in php one, if they do happen, go back to page where the link was and try and figure out where is meaning to go (if that makes any sense)

It I believe will only really happen when trying to access ACP - but then thats only place I have found it to happen, doesn't mean its the only place it will happen.

I posted a topic similar, I have this safe mode error as well but I also have some header errors too
