okay, i downloaded free template 52. in the download, is there a specific file that i can upload to my host to get that exactly what i see in the live view? i guess i'm trying to say is there a specific file that i can upload to the host that already has everything coded for me? or would i have to do it myself, given the images?

You probably need to upload all the files, except the read-me etc. Who coded it?

Oh, so you want the "intro" thing at the beginning, correct? If so, I know how to do it. I used this skin before.

Well, what you need to do is make that intro page be known as "index.html" (this way the server will read it as being the first page to read) and then have the "ENTER" button or image linked to "home.html" (your actual homepage).

i want the intro thing, yes. but i also want it so that the actual index looks exactly what it looks like in the live preview

also, uploaded the "home" portion of the page. i want to edit it with info about my site. but when i do, the background disappears as well as the black borders around the fields of info that i'm trying to edit
