i m setting up phpbb3 in my zymic account. whenever i want to link database following error arises
Could not connect to the database, see error message below. Access denied for user 'techtonik_djrachit'@'localhost' (using password: YES).
please help me out in fixing the problem...

Your user name and database name must be 16 characters or fewer.

I've never done it, so no...

However, from the look of things you're nearly there. Recreate your database/user with names shorter than 16 characters, then use those details instead.

k dere it is written techtonik_name... so d name is full "techtonik_name" or the name part only?

Your database name is techtonik_name.

Actually, I am having the same problem with PHPBB.

Here is what I typed in and what it said after I clicked "proceed to next step".

Somewhere there should be a host name option, in which you should put localhost

I'm having the same problem as dj.rachit and Klevin. However, I cannot make my database and usernames less than 16 characters because the URL of my site is greater than 16 characters by itself.

databasename: cutdownyourenergyusage_megadatabase
username: cutdownyourenergyusage_megaadmin

Here's my error message:
Could not connect to the database, see error message below.
Access denied for user 'cutdownyourenerg'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

Hi.

As your site name is too long, your solution is a bit more complicated. The solution is to make a dummy site, something with a shorter name, and set up the databases on your new site. Then connect to the new databases from your old site.

Alright, thanks! We decided to just switch to a shorter url by creating a different site.

Thankfully, we hadn't gotten ourselves too entrenched on the other one, so switching was really simple.
