Hello
Try to create a folder "uploads" in the folder "wp-content"
and apply a chmod 777 to "uploads"
it should be ok

This is definately a irectory permission issue quite common after installing an open source application. Changing the directory permission of the images to 777 should definately resolve this issue.

what he said...
that is the problem when your user don't have admin rights...
you will need to create the UPLOADS directory manually...

Is there a restriction on the server which only allow the script to create only one folder at a time?
because if i set my wordpress -> settings -> misc -> Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders = checked
it only able to create folder "2009" under wp-content/uploads
but unable to create another folder under "2009" e.g "07"
i have to manually create "07" using ftp for the uploading images function to be working fine.

KevinC, make sure your uploads folder has writing permissions, if not change its permissions to 777

Having put all possible directories to chmod 777, I still can't upload thrue WordPress. Any ftp application can, WP can't.
I don't get it...
Thanks in advance
