How trusty/reliable is your company?
sclek
Very reliable. Downtime almost never happens and server load is generally under 2% (usually under 1%). The server is Core2Duo @ 2.66ghz with 4gb ram.

if i wouldnt have signed up with godaddy a couple days ago I definitley would have signed up for this. Great deals smile.gif

Edit: I wish you had an ssl though, since putting in address and everything without one is not something someone likes to do really. No matter how trusted the company is.
sclek
I have just purchased PositveSSL about an hour ago, but I am having problems installing it on my main IP address so I just contacted the Data Center to give me a new IP address.

EDIT:
Got SSL working on the site. It is now secure smile.gif

Ok here is the situation. I want to order sShared 20 for my new project called Sizmos.com. I currently have the site hosted on my own server however I am thinking of just keeping that server for customers. This project will require a lot of space (about 5k) so I think that plan would be perfect. If I can get you the archive of the entire account can you restore it to yours? Also do you offer free domains for the accounts?
sclek
Yes I would be able to restore it. And for that plan it comes with 1 free .info domain.
IamShipon1988
Hey Sleck,

I placed my order and put the domain to be shrud.info. It was an accident, I wanted Sizmos.info instead. I don't know where I would place the order for the domain.
Jetteh22
Aw, you should have called it "Jetteh22's Birthday Sale!!" tongue.gif (you posted this on my bday)

Anyways.... Yeah, you deals are great, but then again you're still a new web host and I am hesitant to start up with any newer web hosts, regardless of the costs.

Rewindd.net is still up and running but after the little 'shutting down' scare, it just proved my point a bit.

Are you on a master reseller account, or is this your own server, ect.
Is the server host you're using reliable, and how long have they been in business?

Also - do you pay for your 'server/master reseller account' by the year or by the month, and how long until your current plan runs up?

These are some questions I ask myself when I try to get a web host. If a web host is paying for their master reseller/server by the month, it's probably a good idea not to go with them as they could, at any time, run out of money and have to shut down.

By having their servers paid for until, say, Jan of 2010, it would make me want to go to them more, as the chances of them running out of money and having to shut down won't be as likely as it's just one less bill they have to pay per month.

sclek
Hey,

OK I will register that domain now and hook it up with the account. You should have received the account details aswell.

I pay for my server monthly and it is my own server (I have root access) and I am not a master reseller. I pay for the server by the money made from the site and there is no contract on the server. You will be able to check via reverse dns soon because I have access the datacenter to change the reverse hostname to "server1.sclek.com".

Also you said you have a backup. Upload the backup to a directory some where on your current server and I will download it and import it to your account.

Regards,
Jay

EDIT:
Sizmos.info is taken wacko.gif
What is another domain you want?

Sizmo.info is also a good one. Once the account is setup, please let me know. I will then start transferring files.

I have registered that domain, just waiting for it to appear in my domain manager. Also your account details were sent to your email you provided. I will send another copy in a PM if you like.

EDIT:
DNS is propagating. I will add it once it finishes. Also I sent account details to you in a PM.

EDIT AGAIN:
DNS will take a while to propagate so I am going to sleep and check back later. Just add sizmo.info as a parked domain and if it works that means it has propagated.

EDIT AGAIN AGAIN:
Domain has propagated and is on your account now smile.gif
http://sizmo.info/

I have sent a reply to your PM. Please read the latest one. Also later on I will need for you to change the master domain to Sizmos.com. Not now, I will let you know when. If you do need help doing this, let me know. I have been dealing with cPanel hosting for about 4-5 years now.

Jetteh22 - I know about the "new hosting business" issues. I am going to use his server to run the account but will use my own to keep the exact copy backup of it. I am most-likely going to keep the accounts interconnected. Thanks to cPanel, it is extremely easy to transfer accounts if SSH access is granted.
wozzym
signed up, but where do you point the name servers to? registrar = godaddy

edit: do you register domains off sclek.com as well? I am looking to register a new one for my photography (to go with my current account)
IamShipon1988
No he will manually register a domain I think. Their nameserver is ns1.sclek.com and ns2.sleck.com. Hey wozzy, how come you never registered an account with my host?
sclek
I was thinking of getting an ENOM reseller account for domains, but at the moment I register them manually at GoDaddy.

And yes, name servers are:
ns1.sclek.com
ns2.sclek.com
IamShipon1988
Enom is pretty good and does indeed have great pricing. If you are serious about it, then you should. I think its a $100 deposit for an account.
sclek
I guess I will buy it maybe a few days after Christmas.
