Attack is still continuing, but we're getting there. To explain a bit more; a DDOS style attack is occurring on a hosted site with us, the site is using a co.cc address so we are trying to get hold of the abuse department of co.cc so they can block the DNS pointing to our servers. Until that is done the attack will continue.

everything is working on my web now, it's fast, it works etc. BUT FTP is broken.

Damnit... I deleted my css file so I could re-upload a new version. Now I can't upload and I can't ftp in.

Is anyone sorting this FTP problem out? Also the upload button in file manager thing is broken as well.

Apparently, my old host couldn't stand my eloquently worded review of their crappy hosting - 000WebHost. So they launched a DDOS attack on my site, podtube.co.cc... it's at times like this I just want to stab people for their silliness

Yes we've had spam coming from 000webhost on our forums before, their site is very shady so beware, it doesn't surprise me that they were the cause of today's attacks.

On my friend's site I'm making for her, it seems to be a bit slow... sorry...

FTP seems to still be spazzing out, not allowing me (and others, obviously) to connect to the server. I mean, right now this isn't any skin off my nose (for once ._.) cause all i wanna do is update the test site im working on, and my profile website doesnt need to be updated urgently so its cool. I hope you guys sort it out soon, and kick the hackers/attackers asses!

I see this as well. Additionally, it gets past entering the user name as shown above and seems to timeout or fail with the password authentication, however if you do this four times in a row the system obviously seems to think that i am already logged in to the server three times. I am finding this problem with my site: bcosta.uuuq.com

Added a subdomain(name.uuuq.com) and it didn´t work from the beginning.

Can´t upload my files, and yesterday I wasn´t be able to acces my account.
De ftp link and create new map are down.

I red a post about deleting the sub-domain and by re-creating it the problems where gone.

Okay, it's nice knowing that everyone is having pretty much the same issues I am, so it isn't just me, but I'm still wanting to see some kind of admin response here. At least I found a workaround for my issue (deleted my CSS file only to discover I couldn't upload or create a new one, or even undo the deletion).

The issues:
FTP will not allow a sustained connection. Web application for File Manager does not allow Upload or New documents.

The workaround for my specific situation:
Since I'm missing the CSS file that formats my content, I had to edit the html files themselves and hand-enter the whole style sheet as < style > < / style > tags in the header. Ugly, annoying way to use HTML in my opinion.

The weird thing:
I can't use the file manager to upload, I can't use it to make a new file, but I can edit a file? How does that make any sense? I can understand the FTP shutdown during a DDOS, but the file manager issues at all are confusing, let alone that only some functions are broken. What? Just odd.

Anyone with actual knowledge and/or authority care to explain why this is happening or at least give an estimate about the expected time to return to normal? Thanks.

Using FileZilla.

It appears to connect to the ftp server. Takes the username ok. But when it gets the password it can't authenticate it.

Anyone checked to see if it responds the same way to a deliberately wrong password?

Password file hosed?

Connection to where ever the password file is located is down/overloaded/fubar'd in another fashion?

Disk failure where passwords are stored?

Lots of good things to check. And some of those take some real ability to check properly.

I'm seriously getting annoyed now, cos my site is missing pages which need to be added, yet I can't add cos FTP is broke and so is the Upload/New Buttons. I just want an admin to sort this out. soon.

The filemanager needs FTP to work. It just serves as an online alternative for people who can't get an FTP client.
As for editing files and browsing them but not editing,
*The browsing still works because its most likely held in a cache.
*The editing works for the same reason
*Uploading doesn't work because it requires a live connection to the server, which browsing and editing don't need because they're (probably) held in a cache.

Its because of a DDoS attack. You can't login because of that, even though you connect and enter your username and password, it'll deny you because of this attack. I have the same error for my site; it affects all the sites on the uuuq server. This isn't a password problem.

I've just managed to log in using my Ftp, but it won't let me transfer any files because it says I've exceeded my 50000mb limit.

I only signed up two days ago, so I'm assuming that this is something else that needs to be sorted out?

Ditto. FTP is now working, had the same problem as everyone else earlier.
Now when I try to transfer a file it complains about having exceeded my 30000MB monthly limit. Bah.
Hopefully it's being looked into, just wanted to post it's not just one user who's affected.

Techie your more than likely wrong on the editing part. If the editor worked on cached files then when you downloaded your site via FTP it wouldn't be the same thing that was being seen in the control panel editor.

Web Scripting languages have the ability to edit files by opening them, changing, then saving the files (sort of like notepad does). Since it's being done on the server there is no issues, but I can see how the uploader would use FTP although I would have thought it would have used an upload function in the scripting language the control panel is written in (java server pages if I'm not mistaken).

Wrong. I'm still getting the Quota bullshit. And as a test i created a brand spanking new account, and with zero uploads i still get it...this needs to be fixed, and fucking soon...
