I recently made a new site, I have never put anything on it.

I made a MySQL database, and gave it all the permissions.

I checked the wp-config.php file, it is saved under wp-config.php

I doubled checked that my username. password, and database name were all correct.

The files are saved on the main directory, it is not in any folder.

when I put in the wp-admin/install.php after my URL I get an error message.

I am new to all this, what am I doing wrong?!

P.S.

I notice that my files have 644 permission, idk if that has anything to do with it.

PLEASE HELP!

What's the error message? And what's your site?

my website is blinkinglighthouse.uuuq.com

the error message was

Error establishing a database connection

This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can't contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host's database server is down.

* Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
* Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
* Are you sure that the database server is running?

what is the server? Should it be 'local server' ?

localhost. However your site name is too long to create databases - the maximum length is 16 characters, and your site name alone goes way over that.

You need to set up a 'dummy' site with a much shorter name, set up the databases/users on that, then use those databases from your current account.
