Hi, I'm new. I've created my first website, using this site (actually I'm just working on it now). The thing is I've heard of site's being hacked or spammed. I'm just wondering if I have to do anything to protect my site. I know I will not have a comment system (unfortunately, I only know HTML, and a bit of CSS, that's why). There would be no way of being spammed. I have a strong password. It really makes me nervous, being someone who doesn't know much about web development. So can someone please explain how to protect my site in a noob-friendly way.

I don't think theres much you can do, zymic is very protective hosting so nothing can really be hacked

Well, if your pass is secure : Fop56Xx445 something like that than you got nothing to worry about from being hacked while getting to your account.
Now if you have scripts inside your site... you got to be careful what you do with it. (Not HTML and CSS of course) there is no way someone can hack your site with your HTML and CSS.

Often people tend to download scripts from third party clients. Do not do that. The third party generally tends to put their own items inside making your server/account open for access by them.
To prevent from spamming, you will need spam control such as CAPTCHA for every forms.
