Well...

I just bought the domain IR2.ME and I am going to make a TinyURL Alternative. Just a little question, do you think it would grow as big as TinyURL did?

Also, I got the domain like this:
IR = to go (in spanish)
2 = To
.ME = Me
so...
to go to me

So hopefully once I get the design and all the coding done, I will be able to get it nicely off the ground.

Your are no longer just competing against tinyURL, but also many other sites. Correctively, you are also going against two projects I either sponsor or created: Mirrorize and 9LE.

I even once had one of these built that had a good few URL's in it at one time - ururl.us (your url).

You're competing against a HUGE site (tinyurl) and also against alot of smaller but more popular sites than yours. If you're doing it to hopefully make money off of ads, ect, i wouldn't be on it - but if you're doing it to be nice, why not?

Don't forget http://moourl.com/ and http://http://yep.it/ and the 1000's of others.

Wow... well that is okay. If it doesn't work out I can always sell the domain lol.
