Hello All,
I had a question that I couldn't find anywhere else:
I want to create a free website, to host family pictures, but I want to password the entire site so only family members can log into the site and see them:

A.) Is this allowed by zymic, to password an entire site?
B.) Will my pictures be private? (meaning will admins or zymic take and use them for advertising? an "official" yes or no would be appreciated on this one)

-Thanks All

PS: I know this was answered, but any "additional" ideas on passwording an entire site would be nice. smile.gif

I'm not a "higher-up" but I've seen many people ask this question or questions similar on the forum and the answers are probably going to be: Yes you can password protect your site, and No, Zymic will not take ownership of your pictures.

That being said, there are some restrictions, such as you probably wont be aloud to make a script of some sort for download wizards for family members to download large numbers of pictures at the same time (even so, right-click --> save as will still work if they want the pictures). You also want to make sure that there isnt any pictures that violate the TOS, such as pornographic or stuff of that nature (which if you really are making a family website, you should be easily steared clear of that).

Basically, you will keep possession of your material you upload to the servers, but I think Zymic can review the information to confirm it doenst violate the TOS. For instance, if you had an "illegal" picture of sorts, you would get in trouble for being the owner of the picture, but Zymic would probably still get in trouble for having it on the servers.

...I lost my train of thought...

Wait for an admin to confirm this before taking my word for it though.
Dave

I can confirm you can password the entire site and although Zymic staff periodically check sites for illegal content (or sites in breach of our TOS), we do not tamper or take any of your personal files.

Also:
Why don't I have the option of the old subdomains? (zxq.net, 99k.org)?

It only gives me uuuq.com...I'm not fond of it too much...
Dave

The older subdomains reached their capacity and so are no longer available. UUUQ is the only one we're running at the moment because it the fastest and most stable. There may be new subdomains available in the future.

Oh, ok.

If you want to protect several single menus of your website try it with hpage.com.
I have made my own website about my family and my children and only these can see those private pages and galleries - and the other pages are visible for the hole world.
