Yesterday after working with a few staff we launched the newest version of HipHopClique. For those who don't know, HipHopClique is a gaming site that I have been running for a while. The site is something I created when I was very new to php. I started off with a pre-built script and modified to what it is today. Trust me when I say this, this script was modified A LOT!

When most of the users requested a change, I did a major upgrade. Fixed up most of the bugs, added a few new features and added a new theme. Theme was basically the color orange. The banner will be dynamic soon (changing on every page reload) and the background of the site will be dependent on the holiday and special advertisers.

Tell me what you think of the overall site including layout and the new system we implemented.

There were a few bugs in the new system but those are minor and will be fixed in version 6.1 which we plan on releasing next week.

It's pretty well done IMO. My only question is that are you going to keep the header the same all the time or will you change it periodically? Like one week be Assassins Creed, the next Half Life, the next SC2, ect.

As I have stated above, the header will change on every reload. So if you go there you will see one image, but if you reload it will load another image. However, this will be implemented on version 6.1. I'm working on writing up the code this week. Thank you for the feedback!

Not the best you've done IMHO. The layout, I mean. Not sure how good the internal coding is, but the layout itself could use some work. I know I can't talk much as I can't design worth shit (good ideas in my head, shitty at actually designing it), but I just don't like it.

It might just be my work computer but the background for the content just hurts my eyes a little. And it's a nasty color (probably just my computer).

The content for the text is not supposed to hurt your eyes, that's why I chose that color. I do appreciate your comment. I decided to simple on this layout, mostly because I didn't have much time on my hand.

I didn't like the color you choose for the header and the black background. Jetteh22 is right, It just hurt the eyes. Also the categories, it don't look like there are any categories page there. I looks so small.

for some reason, it doesnt look like a game site when you first get on. if you scroll down it does, but the header makes it look like some clan or something.

Do you have any recommendation?

I don't think the name suits it at all either. hip Hop Clique sound like some music download site, or music blog revolving around Hip hop.

Yeah I know...but back then (when I started this site) I had only this domain to work with (it was free). So I built up on it. Now if I change it, I am loosing the name I built up.

Keep it with a redirect. at least for a year.

i mean you got all these links built up on google and yahoo... so you can't just change everything... keep the domain name with a redirect to the new one. You'll keep having your links for one year... which should be enough to build your 'new name' and if it appears that your new name sounds better than you got it good on both ways.

Well help me find a good domain. I am really going blind. My first idea was playwith.me. Then I tried with.me. No luck. I don't mind .com or .me just need a good name.

Today I registered 2 new domains for HipHopClique. They are AMUZ.me and AMUZ.us. I will park these two domains for now and will make these the official domains when the new version of HHC releases.

I decided to just go with a premade script and modify some of it. Added an arcade script to it, to allow people to compete with each other. But I still got a lot of coding to do.
