I am doing this as a bit of a hobby and writing all of the html and css myself. I uploaded my files and then decided to see if my html and css were up to standards. I went to w3c.org and ran validation on the page and I got quite a few errors dry.gif Of course I was expecting that first time out. What I wasn't expecting was that there were like 8 errors that include a script added by zymic.com. I check the source of my page and there at the end is this:
CODE
<script src="http://www.hosting.zymic.com/fixstats.php"></script>

What is it? What does it do? Why is it after the </html>?

You mean like strength, intelligence, wisdom, that sort of thing? huh.gif

Uhm, but really what I wanted to know was what it actually does. Not a snide remark and a general answer. You see I'm no expert with web design and I know less about scripting. I'm also not going to pretend I do.

What I do know is that I have now got a basic little page that I made myself with nothing more than notepad and a web browser and I'm pretty happy about the fact that I managed to make it without frames, with all layout in the stylesheet and it's still usable (not pretty but usable) even if you remove the style sheet. I have also now made it so that it is 100% W3C compliant except for that one piece of code creating 3 validation errors.

So, please, forgive me for wanting to know EXACTLY what was happening with my web site.
I'm sure if I used a template or someone elses code to create the thing I wouldn't care, but I put many hours into learning how to do and then doing it. It's my code and I wanted to know in what way it was being changed. I hope that's OK with you.

It's inserted after 'every' page to track statistics for your website. Not sure if it's operational at the moment.

lol, who had a snide remark? i was guessing, because i didn't know what it was, but i was guessing it was for stats. Stats being part of your site. So calm down there muzein! You sound emo... lol
