with zymic i opened a hosting account

i have got an account 'commissioner' is the username
the database is 'us'

i am using joomla installer

it asks for database type i have 'myqsl'
host name i have 'localhost'
username i have 'commissioner'
database name i have 'us' also tried 'commissioner_us'

have tried variations of everything & no luck.

it keeps saying unable to connect, could not connect to myqsl

- i've spent hours trying with no luck, would really appreciate any offer to help

Have you tried applying permissions to the database account?

host name i have 'localhost' ok
and database use name: yourdomain_database username you create
database name : yourdomain_databasename

You need to do settings first only then you will be able to connect to database
