I tried installing Joomla, but I get this error multiple times with different lines in the file:

Warning: ini_set() has been disabled for security reasons in /www/uuuq.com/t/h/e/thelocalshowcase/htdocs/libraries/joomla/session/session.php on line 102

Is it possible for an admin or someone to enable the ini_set() function so it will work? Account name is localshowcase and the domain is thelocalshowcase.uuuq.com.

Thanks in Advance.

this has been answered before. Open up session.php and add @ before all the ini_set. So you'll end up with @ini_set happy.gif

thankx for the above, but there's another problem now.. when i type my database name, username ..etc

it gives up this message:

An error has occurred.:

Could not connect to the database. Connector returned number: Unable to connect to the database:Could not connect to MySQL

so what should i do now?

hey IDR, hmm, I don't know you might be entering your database info wrong. Remember that there's a 16 characters max rule for the database name/username.

Edit:

For those who are still having trouble installing joomla, please visit the following tutorial.

Are you sure you have entered the correct database username, password and database name correctly. If joomla is bothering you this much then i can suggest you an alternative CMS which does not require a database and you need not write a single line of code.It is called zimplit. Moreover it is open source and free.

I believe zimplit will not work as it requires an outside connection.
