This makes very little sense. You can't set perms on htdocs only directories and files within.

i cant understand very clearly your answer.i want to create site map.so it wants to 666 permission.please give me help. i use wordpress site map plugin.

ravindra you can't set permissons for the htdocs folder. Select all your files and folders and set the permissions that way.
