hi well I've recently been trying my hand at web design and wanted some feedback on one of my first ever web designs.
it's very simple and minimalist i know but would still appreciate any feedback

thanks smile.gif

For your first time that is pretty good. A few things I would suggest is making the navigation text and header text smaller, keeping the font the same on the content area and maybe make it a bit wider. Nice colours though biggrin.gif

quick question whats the regular size for a web page?
Liqfan
That's all up to your imagination. Most people I know design on a size of 1000px x 1000px.

Anyways, it's very nice for a first design, you certainly got the inspiration, because I've done worse biggrin.gif Try to work on sizes of everything, and watch that menu bar. It's slightly shorter than your header. If that's the point, I'll say nothing, just noticed it biggrin.gif

someones eagle eyed lol. The design so far is still rough hence why sizes are slightly off, i was just seeing if the design was any good and whether or not it was worth cleaning it up or starting again from scratch.
Magnus
It's not a good idea to go past 1000 as a width on a layout, FYI.
Liqfan
True Magnus. I myself work on a canvas of 1000px, and keep 50px atleast on each side to see how it would look on bigger screens with a fixed width, or to create a background background.

And no not relly eagled eyed, just instant noticed it biggrin.gif And it's pretty basic, but by cleaning it up constantly you eventually achieve a nice layout.
Sickness
The good size is between 800 to 900 px you even reach 950px max, but you need to remenber there's a lot of people with 13.3'' laptop.

But anyway good work as your first time designer.
