hmmm i think much better to use swf file or what you call this, flash animation. I dont even tried using .gif file to my website.

Flash animation is a very good option. It looks very real, but the only problem is, flash makes your site load lazily. Thus the use of GIF is popular, which does not make the site load taking a lot of time.

I haven't seen .gif files outside of forum avatar's for a while now. I can't think of a single high profile site that uses it. Everything is pretty much .jpeg, .png and of course flash. Flash files are also pretty lightweight these days. The only reason a flash file would be large would be if it's stocked full of images and sound.

I'm more excited about CSS animations though. It's really a step in the right direction. Still waiting on Firefox support for it though. If you have Chrome or Safari they should work for you as they support Webkit.

As CSS and HTML 5 become more of the standard I expect Flash to be slowly replaced. That won't happen for several years though. So Flash away.

I had a look to your site but was not able to see anything, flash is always being a good option for those who loves animation and who are frustrated of getting into more of coding work. I have made few websites in flash and they really looks cool.

flash sux u cant do much in it and most programs dont run on old comps. i suggest u update to a more recent model comp such as a mac if u r going to do alot of animation. try Harmony it is soooooooooo much better and much easier to use. u can also create ur own rigs!!! it is very expensive but so worth it if this is the profession u want to get into. happy animating

Flash animation is great for creating cartoons. There is a website called ColdHardFlash that features a lot of outstanding example of Flash animation. I personally do not believe that Flash is the wave of the future for web design. Its neat but it is dead. If your site is in Flash you basically make your sites invisible to anyone with an Apple Product, except for their desktop and laptop models.

You can make Flash animations but again you will missing out on a huge market with individuals that have an Ipad, Iphone, and Ipod touch.

I also like flash animation. It is best for creating cartoons.
