It's a html (gotta start somewhere) and the code has not been cleaned. I attempted to use graphics extensively throughout the Mechanical Equilibrium section to achieve a pleasantness for dry material (the first DaVinci background was a bit provacative . . I understand).
The kick: The pages were created and updated on a fairly respectable Graphics PC here with the real estate, 32" plasma, to match with a fair Internet connection - so what I really need is input now, any! The creation of text based pages for Mechanical Equilibrium section is forthcoming. The Balance of Roberval is some 400 frames of animated GIF, it takes about 25 - 40 secs to load the 5MB plus file on my end (it's not the cleanest at this point either . . one thing at a time).
I've been around the forum to see that this "php" and/or "phpadmin" seems to be pretty hot coupled with flash material(s), and the Papervision 3D software - looks real hot. I've reason to believe I know where my next footsteps are going to lead me.

It takes to long to load. You should try to fix that up. Most people won't wait that long and just close the tab.

Thanks for the input, I checked out the site on my stock 1.2 GHz laptop, HP Pavillion zt1230, and there is the "Balance of Roberval" page that loads rather slow (to be expected, it's about 6MB and contains some 400+ frames of GIF animation). On the laptop it took about 35 seconds over a DSL. The other pages in the site seemed to load respectable - less than 3 seconds for a complete load (not blazing fast).
The possibility exists too, you may have viewed the site during the time of "The Attack of the Botnets" this last week.

I think it could really benefit from removing the frames and giving the content (the important bit!) a lot more room to be displayed. The header seems a little uneccessary and overbearing, the frame in my browser wasn't the size of just one of the headers, so it repeated a number of times.

Really like what you've done on the Mechanical Equilibrium page, very DaVinci-esque.

I've been pondering that, especially now that the upper and lowerleft frames (pages w/buttons) have had the gradient removed and replaced with a marble heat-sink pattern, the WEB CONTENTS frame - it's just too fat and/or the translucent F3F3F3 rectangle needs to be polygon'd . . . I seen some toggle switches around here someplace.
. . . header . . . It's a good first attempt at things of the mind to the fingers and not out of the box, and yeah - it's dated the base design is about 7 yrs old

I dunno, maybe I'm blind and I need to have the lower resolution, 1024 x 768 (Actually I thought any higher resolution would be ludicrious, cause who can read comfortably at a higher resolution). Sounds like POLL Material to me: What is your Monitor's Display Resolution when your on the web? ...and list'em all I have to believe that the only happy html medium would be to design two sites identical save for two of the highest target resolutions developed by the poll. PHP may be something totally different in sense interaction of the Server and the OS Browser.
Thanks for the compliment Bread, We thought it was a good theme for that section - as some of us know maybe a little too much scientific Da Vinci wasn't subtle enough.

I understand and I'll acknowledge that I'm (and my sister are) not anywhere near the wizard web designer(s) as most of you appear, but none the less - I appreciate any and all feedback. The site is just the plain ol' htm(l) and is somewhat updated with a new coat of paint (no where near complete, and what I've uploaded creates a little chaos for the some of the previous existing material, (you know . . . broken links, pages not found, etc., . . . in the CAD/CAM Design section). There is some scrunching going on when the old meets the new due to the adjustment(s) of the Frames.
The new format pages are just that new with no excess trimmed out of them (everything was saved at maximum graphic enhancement (256 colors for GIFs, 100% jpgs, and the like)) and some have been edited in notepad for background color where others have not.

For Sclek: It's still heavy on the graphics and there are really no textual pages created.
For Bread: The frames still exist (they've been adjusted) and I'm consciously devising a new look for the entire web.

I'd like to get responses (for the little grass hut) that deal with the overall look and general feel of the operation of Halfwatt Illuminations (HI).
I don't expect rave reviews 'cause I'll probably get rants, but that's okay - everybody communicates differently.
