My site is back up but the phpbb3 forum on my site is inaccessible again. The forum was up for about 10 minutes then a SQL ERROR page appeared, as it did last time. Also no access through FTP yet either.
I'm sure it will be fixed soon. Just thought I'd add whats going on, on my website to the topic.

swordz,
i'm assuming the answer to this will be "just hang in there" but since h-p is running is it possible to add a new web host account if i'm using the domain marcpittarelli.com? or is h-p referring to username, in which case mine is kittensnalcohol, and both of those fall between h-p. i'm sorry, but no other sites can even compete with how awesome zymic is. i'm trying to use google.com and it's really starting to piss me off with its extraneous ftp files and long update delay.. what say ye? are new webhost accounts between h-p up and running yet?
thanks, you're handling all our questions like a champ. i think i'd be pretty annoyed if i were you reading all these posts (no offense to my fellow zymic-ians) and saying the same thing. hang in there!

Sites h-p are up because it's possible to rework the dns so that it only accepts sites in that range.
Unfortunately, it's not possible to do this with the zcp, including registration, so this really is going to have to stay down until it's fully over.
I'm sorry this is taking longer than planned - atm I really don't know what's going on, I've got my last exam tomorrow, so have spent this afternoon revising...
I'll try and get someone else to let you know, as I probably won't be around until midday tomorrow. And am not planning to be in a fit state to post anything coherent.
Sorry,

Zymic you've lost a user. I needed my website to be online tomorrow (12th) so I have had to find another webhost at last minute. You've repeatedly given me no notice whatsoever about features and websites being pulled offline and you've repeatedly failed to meet promises about when normal service will resume. Its been a frustrating night which I really didn't need. I appreciate efforts made to improve the service but not when it is conducted like it has been.

I'm getting this error:
Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)
Should that be happening?
I'm being patient, just wanted to know if there was something I need to do for MySQL.
My page is coming up, but my content uses php/MySQL & where I have the "include" tag, that's what's showing up in it's place.

This error is commonly generated, when MySQL server is down OR not started.

Hello again,
I've been patiently sitting back throughout this time as my
site has been one of those affected by this transfer (it starts with a "z").
I would like to tell a small joke here: A farmer and friend of his were on the roof of the farmer’s barn doing some repair work to the roof. They climbed and shimmied up and down a tall ladder on the side of the barn getting supplies off the grassy ground near the side of the barn. Well near the end of the day the wind picked up and the ladder blew down, inevitably falling to the ground and breaking. The farmer heard it, but the friend did not while continuing his work. The farmer went over to his friend who was busy working still and the farmer mentioned to his friend that the ladder had fallen and broken, the farmer then walked along the roof to find a way down – all the while the friend kept right on working paying close attention in care to his work for his farmer friend. As the farmer neared the back of the barn roof he lost his footing and fell off the barn roof into a gushy manure pile at the back of the barn, un-noticed by his friend. The farmer (smiling & chuckling, even though a little bent because of his own dexterity, was laughing to himself) after getting out of the gushy manure pile un-injured then proceeded into the barn to somewhat clean up and while he was in the barn his friend went to where the ladder was and became aware of the broken ladder and not seeing the farmer on the roof or on the ground he began to shout aloud! After a few moments the farmer from inside the barn, still cleaning up, acknowledge his friend’s cry and cried aloud to him “Carefully walk over the roof to the back of the barn and you’ll be able to safely jump in to the manure pile to get off the roof as I don’t have another ladder …” The friend cried aloud, as he was walking over the roof to the back of the barn, “I remember that manure pile from earlier in the day, it looked pretty gushy and high – I’m not so sure I want to do that!” After a few moments after the wind had died down a little again, he then heard the farmer’s serious response of “… it only came up to my knees! You’ll be okay.” The friend, now standing at the roof edge at the back of the barn, jumped and landed in the gushy manure pile sinking up to his shoulders. He got mad, real mad, and started saying and doing things that mad people do and between the mad words and actions he stated “I thought you said it only came up to your knees”, then some more mad things. The farmer, still removing the manure from himself but yet smiling for his good fortune, came out of the barn and was clean from the knees down, but from the knees up was a stink’n mess as he had fallen, not jumped, off the roof and landed head first in to the gushy manure pile that had saved his life and stated to his friend “ You must not have gotten everything I said” and proceeded to tell the story again of how he had fallen off the roof.
I don't want to come across here in this thread (or any thread for that matter) as being mean, and/or, otherwise un-cordial (or like in kind) but it appears to me that the majority of us are thankful for the analogous farmers manure pile that was there to break the fall so as not to have caused injury, whereas some just didn’t get the entire story (even though it was given), and, they, being imprudent and impatient, - think only of themselves in the manure.
I just thought I’d try to give a little humor to a serious event here. I hope I succeeded, hang tough we're getting clean and we’re alive.

Is there an error in the uuuq.com login page because when I try to get to the login page it shows up with the IExplorer default 404 Message. I haven't tried my FTP yet but thought maybe i should notify you about that.

Oops! This link appears to be broken
And I can't get connection via FTP: "EAI_NONAME - Neither nodename nor servname provided, or not known"
When I tried to login zymic website it didn't approve my password and I had to change it...
Is there a new time estimate when this transfer will be over? Are the names of our websites still look like for example xxx.uuuq.com (I mean is there going to be uuuq.com still at the end)? And do we need new address for FTP? I'm sorry about stupid(?) questions but these are new things to me and bad english is because its not my native language.

I understood most of it I think.
my FTP would look like this (not my real FTP but similar)
If my uuuq.com address was this: vamp.uuuq.com
then the following is used for this address:
User: vamp
(what ever is infront of .uuuq.com)(not including http://)
Password: what ever you use to log into the Site Management on the main site (after clicking the "login" but in the control panel to access your site).
host: vamp.uuuq.com would be my host if that was my address

Yeah, the server relocation and transferring seems to have received a severe jolt or something coz I'm sure the Mods & Admins are working extremely hard to get all our sites up. No response for me too. 404 !
Lets hope our sites are up. Its been a long long time since our sites are down. Very disappointing actually. But Zymic is the BEST freewebhost I have ever come across and I hope they stick to their assurances and make good the goodwill generated.

I have already signed up for a new service....but still waiting for Zymic in hope........
Right, an update...
Basically, all your files are over but the MySQL database crashed yesterday while running and we're still working on repairing it, this was unforeseen and apologies for this longer than expected downtime.
I can't give a timeframe to how long it will take to repair, but rest assured your files are safe and we're working on getting it online ASAP.

We are all wanting our sites up, but calm down! Give it time and they'll be back, ok you may have to wait for now, but it's better than moving to some other free host and have your site down like 50% of the time!

Dear Hardcore complainers,
Apparently you don't actually value your site that much anyway. How do I know? You were willing to pay a maximum of $0 for web hosting (otherwise you'd have just paid for a host).
Assess the cost-vs-benefits and stop complaining.
