Hello,
I installed coppermine in my site recently, i followed all the instructions and everything was going fine until now..
While i was adding images to a gallery some jpg's showed that error and couldn't be added to the gallery..

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 16777216 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1586 bytes) in /www/-----/-/-/-/-------/htdocs/-------/------/-------- on line 262

(i changed the original text with - )
How can i fix this?

copper mine is very resource heavy... im sure thats the reason....

This happens when too many sites are greedy with memory (or even just one site), try again.

I tried again.. still this msg..
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 16777216 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 6344 bytes) in...

I will try again tommorow.. sad.gif

This error is fixed by increasing the memory_limit located in php.ini

Yeah, that's for the server configuration. It's the first report of such an issue, so we will wait to see if this is a repeat issue or just a once off; if not we will increase the limit.

Are you still experiencing this issue?

I'm having the same problem with Coppermine.

It depends on the resolution of the images. Low res pictures will upload just fine, it's the high resolution the ones that cause that message.

I have the same issue. any fix now???

I think the only solution to fix this problem is to increase the memory_limit in the php.ini file, which has to be done by the Administrator of the server. I experienced this problem on my computer (localhost) too, and after changing memory_limit = 8M by memory_limit=20M, it worked fine.
