Why wont the admins allow the use of the SMTP? i really need it for my site and zymic supports the best hosting. please

its not really for security, its mostly for spam....

but then its not like people are going to really seriously misuse it, i just need it to send out remember password and registration mail.... also cant they just put like a limit of 5 mail sent from one website a day?

thats a good idea, except more like 20 emails a day or something, cause 5 is kind of small. i need it for the same reason, my login/registration script on my site requires it :/

Oh i have an idea! You could provide it to ones who have had an account with zymic.com for at least 30 days! And have a certain bandwith limit, or filters on content control and how many emails can be sent and if they are spammy or not.

Cant understand : don't you monitor your accounts ? Is this such an issue to point out the spammers ?

I found Zymic by chance and was almost ready to setup my new personnal site, but ... with no PHP mail function it's not possible to use a good contact form (I use MODx ) and it's noway to use old fashion mailto a href to deal with contact , not talking about newsletter, or as it was said before lost pw request, etc.

As this will be my Resume, portfolio and so on, I just cant believe no one else need badly to use such a function .

actually i could use it myself for my clansite,

personally i'd like to see all of php's features active and working well, it'd make it a worthwile test for php nuke platinum's latest beta that's for sure!
