I am new to this sort of thing and have had a few mishaps in the past. I really want to back up my websites database so there are no future problems. i have read various tutorials and found them very complicated, if someone could tell me a simple and quick way of backing up my database i would be very grateful.

Use phpmyadmin , there is such option as export data base .
