This is my first post so to be polite, a hearty hello to everyone

I'd love to get some constructive comments on how the layout.

Personally I like the clean and simplistic look with small touches of "punk". I do think it's missing something. Maybe you guys can help me figure out what



The photo is just a placeholder for a fade in/out flash gallery.

Looks pretty good, I do know that that bg is seriousally over used, not saying you shouldn't use it just saying maybe in the future stay away from highly used textures effects etc. Yes they can make your site look great, but they can just as easily do the very opposite. As for the site, I think it looks pretty good. I would finish up the content then post, it will give us a better idea of the intentions.

I have an idea what is missing there. You need to put a button or tab or header or some bordering there, with a 3D, and glass effect with medium transparency.
