Hi assignment,
Your example "www.donchange.com" is most likely a
paid for registered domain name (that's the only way I know you can legally get a
World-
Wide-
Web (WWW)
User
Resource
Locator (URL) Address - which in your case example is "www.donchange.com") and as I see it you have minimally three (3) top choices:
1) Use it ("www.donchange.com") until your renewal comes up then let it go and then attempt to secure/get the desired new one "www.change.com" (if it is unregistered)
2) Keep your existing and additionally attempt to secure/get the desired new
paid for registered domain name "www.change.com" (if it is unregistered)
3) Directly contact your current
paid for registered domain name contractor and inquire as to the possibility of such a change (never heard of anything like this happening but you never know unless you try and then you'll know).
If this occurs you'll most likely then have to contact your Web Hosting Provider to work with them additionally to accomodate your sucess. (see below)A word to the wise: If you are successful in a
paid for registered domain name change your Web Hosting Provider for your current
paid for registered domain name may be able to accommodate the new WEB URL Address without too much complication(s), remember you get what you pay for - Caveat Emptor!
Additionally,
Keep a complete copy of all your contented web files on your computer for your benefit.
