Can anyone tell me if I can use index.php as my website homepage?

Previously I had used index.html as my homepage and it had worked. But now I installed wordpress on my database and I want my homepage to be of wordpress not in html. I had also installed wordpress at a folder named wordpress but later I moved it to the root directory of my website and deleted the previous index.html files and its related files such as .css and images. But my website win-tricks.vndv.com still uses the text of my html file which I have already deleted.

How can I use index.php provided by wordpress as my homepage?
