I setup a database for my osCommerce installation.

Now I am trying to do the setup for osComm and I keep getting these errors


Database Server
For this field I keep putting in the server like this vndv.com and then the whole url like this ahometrend.vndv.com and also localhost
Username
I put in the username that I set for the database
Password
I put in the password I set for the database
Database Name
I created the database name as store so I put this name in and also ahometrend_store


None of the above works .. I keep getting this error


There was a problem connecting to the database server. The following error had occured:

Lost connection to MySQL server at 'reading initial communication packet', system error: 111

Please verify the connection parameters and try again.



Can someone assist me with this.. I am about to go crazy tryin to figure this out.

ahm still i can not connect to database . i am setting up drupal script but i cant connect to db user name .

Youre Database name must be under 16 characters or 16
