I have a related question (actually, lots of them!).
I am trying to set up a forum "tied" to an online game called Tribal Wars (
www.Tribalwars.net). They use a modified form of phpBB they call DSphpBB. I have downloaded that.
My questions are (don't judge me too harsh, I am completely in the dark here):
1. I need to have a website, right? What is the difference between a web host and a web site? Make it as simple as possible please. If possible, give examples, like urls.
2. One of the requirements is to setup a database with a specific collation (utf8-bin), using something like phpMyAdmin. No need to specify anything, or so they say, as the install process will take care of that. Are websites provided or made under Zymic hosting able to handle that?
3. What is the size limit that I can upload to my site? The files I downloaded are ~11 MB in total and I will have to import data they release every day (I guess new data replace old ones so no accumulation of odd files) that are in the order of 20-25 MB to keep the forum in "sync" with the game. One particular file in said data is quite large (~15 MB, maybe even more), will it be able to be automatically uploaded each day? (or, better yet, is there a way to get that file not manually? I mean, to set something like a routine that gets the file every day from the game servers?)
4. It is required to make a specific folder, named "twforum" in my website and upload all files necessary to install the forum there. Can I make sure that this folder is made to correspond with the address "yourforum.com/twforum" ?). I tried this in another free web hosting service and it ended up in a complete mess, that's why I am here

5. Is there a limit to how many people can be registered in the forum, will this affect the size of the files associated with the web site or the speed at which forum pages, threads and stuff are accessed?
If it helps, I will provide the link that describes the installation of this special kind of forum as described in the related forum (most of the d*rned thing is in German and I don't speak that), it is
here. I'd be in deep debt to anyone who can help set this thing up!
Thanks!
