How many people on here use the free web host as a way to host games so that the school you go to hasn't blocked them yet, I know that's why I'm here

if your school on ... SWGFL it would have like every proxie blocked
You could try just by typein ip address in for the site but if that dont work try a proxie but if you keep usin them on a private network as it is you could get fined for by pasing things blocked on the network ... and most schools theses days have an autoblocker i know my school does if you access a proxie you will be banned from the net

If you can find a working proxy on my schools filter it only lasts about a week. Matters how often your IT department updates the block list and if they care to manually monitor traffic.

On bigger schools I am sure they do monitor it alot but at smaller schools I bet you could use a proxy for a little while...maybe setup wamp server on your own pc and run it when you leave for school? lolz

There's not much that my college has blocked.
Though if you go on hidemyass.com or any other proxy site you get banned from the internet for a week.

No way to get around my school's annoying internet. They blocked google translator, Altavista, and all of the proxies I've found.
Which is lame.
Does anyone know how to get around this? If you do, then you deserve to the president of the internet.

My school's blocking mechanism isn't on the actual computers, rather it is on their network. This makes it very difficult to bypass without a proxy.

i don't know what my school does..
its not local, but its throughout the whole state. But when i install FireFox it just works. no proxies.. (opera & safari don't do it, only FF)

My school has a stupid Bess site blocker. It's lame >.<
My classmates and I usually just keep looking for game sites that haven't been blocked yet. And when they eventually block it we always find another one. But i guess our school wants us to stop playing games online because it messes with our bandwith or something, which is also why we can't stream music or videos anymore.
like its our fault our computers and servers suck lol.

Dec 19 2007, 03:47 PM

I made my own proxy and it lasted for about a year with my school. surfer.city-scapes.net

I know most schools will not block it at a computer level. Most of the time they will block it at the gateway which everyone needs to access to get to the internet.

yea, usually its based on the nnumber of hits to the site, and if it reaches a certain amount, then it is flagged for the IT to check it out and block if neccessary. As long as you keep the knowledge of it to a mininum, then you should be fine.

For flash games, I simply fetch the flash games from my browser's cache and save them on my flash drive. Then I could play those games off of my flash drive at school.
My school blocks forum sites, so If I wanna access those, I use translation sites as proxy servers, since real proxies such as hidemyass are blocked. But translation sites aren't reliable, since sometimes, I type in the url and they still deny access.
