ok. I know the layout kinda sucks right now, and i'm not really sure what to add to the layout. and unfortunately i'm still learning how to use photoshop. So just a little review of my site would help greatly.

and yes i know the template, wallpapers, and photos pages aren't setup yet, so you'll get 404 for those. But i'm mainly just looking for tips on the layout. I want to keep it small like it is, but i'm not sure what images to add where to the little header thing.

Thanks!

its very interesting.... i haven't seen a small site like that since 2002...

i would personally make a fixed width site.

you have too much white space (in this case black space)

you can do it, i see potential..
Drake14
Yeah i figure maybe i'll make a background for the entire page. i think leaving the page black and having white slant marks everywhere would be too distracting.

maybe gray slant marks?
Colin
Maybe not even a patern just a lighter color like greyish...Black just looks plain
Drake14
I'll check it out tomorrow, off to bed for now.

Any other comments or critiques would be greatly appreciated biggrin.gif

Well the text on your pages could use some padding so it isn't on edge...

The layout is pretty good, and the use of an iframe is ok so long as you don't need to scroll across to view it.
However, the website seems a little empty. The banner definitely needs spiffing up, especially seeing as it's a gfx website. Also, color scheme is ok but gradient is cliche and boring, again, seeing as it's a gfx website. I'm against the nav and the content having the same bacground - they need to be somehow different because you've drawn a line separating them [you know what i'm talking about?]. The font used in the content and nav is a bit naff. You want something Sans Serif and boring, like the font used on this forum. Also, you could add to the background, a pattern maybe, scan lines wouldn't look too bad i guess, so long as the pattern is small and not too color-busy / distracting.
Otherwise, good work, bro!

Thanks guys! I'll work on it when i get home from practice today and let you know when I've updated it.
Drake14
Ok.

I changed the layout, added a little something too the header, nothing too exciting but it fills up some empty spaced.

i added some padding to the font and i changed the font.

I also lightened up the background color.

I'm not sure what color to use for the navigation area, any ideas?

other than that how does that look?
Colin
On the bottom right corner of the header, you can see a bit of whitespace where it is rounded, And the shape in the header is too plain, do some effects, maybe an orb... I am not sure about the navigation...maybe a dotted red border in between each item?
Drake14
Ok i fixed up the banner a bit. I think it looks better now. As for the nav bar i'll leave it for now. haha it's too early in the morning to worry about it now (1:20 AM here biggrin.gif)

Let me know what you guys think of it! biggrin.gif
Drake14
Sorry for the double post.

I made a new header, I think it looks a lot better now.

any comments?
Drake14
bump?

added a shoutbox, and a lot more content is on my site now biggrin.gif
ib
take the site down, get better at photoshop, then make a new site in a 3-9 months time.
Drake14
...

wow that was pretty harsh....

rofl.

completely agree though.
Drake14
Im working on a new layout now...

so you all know...the current one is a temporary site, just so i could start getting traffic and some of my work on the web.......
Banjo
Not being mean or anything, but the shoutbox looks out of place and like it was just flung there.
Drake14
Made a new template, it's slightly larger, but i don't know where to put it >.<

There's not room for it >.<
Banjo
Is this ament to look like this (yout site)?

Also instead of having a shout box maybe you can have a comment page.

Looks Fine in my browser :S ?
Banjo
Lol looks like that in mine. Although my firefox is screwed up, i need to reinstall it.

Looks even worse in IE on mine lol. I think my computer is broken then.
Drake14
No, it's not supposed to look like that, sorry forgot to post that you may have to refresh a few times.

also my previous post didn't make much sense (was 3:30 a.m lol)

what i mean to say was there is no room for the shoutbox, and i dunno where to put it.
Banjo
Ok

Ummm.... How about dont have a shoutbox on there, or have a seperate page for it or a comment page.
Drake14
I'll probably look into a comment page,

thanks!

if the above image is the website you guys are talking about, than it has some seriouse problems over FF.
Not to count the dirty, basic images that do not match.

But no harm, we all been trough this... even tho many of us will say no...
Piyo
My major thoughts:

Other than that, well, its very plain. smile.gif
And maybe, just maybe, you may want the page to scroll down below the browser instead of having an empty space below. (Sorry for my English)
