I was really suprised to see a Linux player from the go. The video quality is excellent, it is very watchable, do get the odd latency issue now and then though, while not crystal clear, fullscreen is also watchable.

There isn't a huge variety of UK channels to choose from, but BBC Four, Channel 4, BBC 3 and News 24 are welcome additions, then there's the kid's channels, CBeebies and CBBC, there are quite a few foreign ones, most are news channels, I did turn on 'sumo.tv' and was scarred for life, 'Hairy armpit lickers', WHAT IN THE HELL?! -- I think it's a bit late to be looking at that channel... Al Jazeera was a bit dissapointing, I couldn't understand a word, still quite amusing to watch them roll their r's and become so animated... think that novelty will wear thin before long.

Audio seemed to vary on the various channels.

The only complaints I have is the linux application rolled out is GTK based and only supports gnome-keyring for storing passwords, which is a shame because I don't really want to be installing another library / application when I already have a password wallet in KDE.

Not even sure why I'm writing a review, but hey if you've not already, check it out:

Interested to know what the Windows and Mac clients are like.

How is this free without being illegal? I mean UK pays tax so that the BBC can operate, yet this program allows everyone in the world to watch BBC?

Yeah, there is a message at the beginning of the programme telling you to have a valid UK TV License, but yes, very hard to police that, so border-line legal.
