You have your answer in your error. "SAFE MODE" a simple SEARCH of the forums would have brought back HUNDREDS of topics, all saying the same thing.
Safe mode is ON and will not be turned off unless you pay to get it turned off.

I don't want the safe mode off, I know is for security reason, but the extensions can be installed with safe mode enabled too.
I only think if the function file_put_content is allowed the extensions may be installed correctly. I know that the extension can be uploaded and installed even if the safe mode is set "on".

another suggestion is to allow us to be able to have ability to override some of the php variables by either allowing us to have a local copy of php.ini in our home folder or by using .htaccess

I don't know whether this has been mentioned, but why not add an auto install for SMF? They have a web-install package, however it won't work with Zymic. (don't know if it's a Safe_mode issue or what....)

According to this, we'll have auto-install of various scripts after the implementation of the zymic control panel v2 sometime after the move to the new server. Keep your fingers crossed and hope that SMF is included =)

I'm just saying, how are you supposed to know who will abuse the email privileges if you havent given anyone the chance to use it? I dont know much about how all this server crapola works, but cant there be a way to computerize monitor the quantity of emails a user sends out.

I could really use the email function because of my forum. I need users to be able to receive the confirmed sign up messages, i need users to receive the change password emails, and I need to be able to send out emails to everyone (or a select group of people) on my forum on a regular basis.

Once again, I dont know how the server crapola works, but I believe that the usernames, passwords, emails, etc. are saved under a database in my website for my forum members. Cant there be a way to limit the email function to people who have their emails saved in the database. That way, the email recipients are limited to those who have their email saved in the site's database, appose to allowing us to just email whoever we feel like it.

I understand what you mean. Basically, you're only allowed to send E-mails to people who's E-mails you have in your database. However, how hard would it be for spammers to put E-mails in a database? They probably have one anyway.

The reason that the $10 payment works is that it's not guaranteed that the spammers would make that much - so they're likely to just go else where. And it's not that large a sum, for a one off.
