Hey, fairly new to web design. Hope I don't come off as too stupid. I was wondering:
How do you change permissions in FTP? If this is the same as changing them in the file manager, then I have another problem, because it doesn't let me change them there. A step-by-step explanation would be nice, if possible.

again the same error. I´ve seen a lot of answer with this problem but noboby tell nothing to resolve. there are problems with servers?

I put my user and my password logging correctly a lot of times and always is the same. I´ve tried to change my password but the problem continue. what´s happen?

i tried a few diff configs of my username and when i try pamelag@uuuq.com it says username ok but pass not (even tho the pass is def right) and gives the login 530 error, when i try pamelag@ for the username it works too for the username ok, but the pass not (even tho its right) and gives the login 530 error, but when i just do pamelag (as the tutorial says for uuuq.com ones) it says:

Please help me. I am unable to access the server itself. I am using Filezilla and I get the following message :

Status: Connection attempt failed with "ECONNREFUSED - Connection refused by server".

Any help would be appreciated

Hi im new here...
i got the FTP set up alright, its just initially i uploaded an old website of mine just to test it. now i have uploaded my new one ontop of that, i just cant seem to delete all the old files :/

Hi- My problem is that I cannot load any files via ftp to my server. Whenever I try to load a folder it says operation failed, and whenever I try to upload a file it says it has an invalid filename. Can anyone help me?

May 10, 2009. Has anyone been experiencing issues with connecting to their site via FTP? I have not been able to create a stable connection since Friday. I can't log in to my site either through the online control panel. When i click on the link to log in, the browser receives a 404 each time. Any ideas?

So I tried this, using the password that I use to manage my site using Zymic's online tools, and I get

connected to <ipaddress> port 21
!Receive error: connection reset

!Connection failed

For some reason connection is denied in my ftp client.
I checked my mail and settings, and i entered all the correct information.
It connects, then after i type my password it says: entrance refused, or no entry, or connection refused.

The ftp issue was solved few days ago. But I still have trouble logging in.

Below is what I got after a few try. I'm using FileZilla as ftp client.

I can view my .uuuq site, but I cannot log into my FTP account to upload files. Here is my error:

"421,150 users (the maxiumum) are already logged in, sorry
Cannot establish connection"

Is there any way around this? I've been waiting for over an hour, but it still says there are too many users on... Thanks.

HOW COME my ftp works ( Sometimes) and i add the files ( im useing this site for a updater) so it would go http://wobupdater.uuuq.com/patchs_list.ini
then it would say connection interupted and or cannot find page then some times it works?

I logged in and connected via FileZilla. I did a file move on my uuuq site after creating a sub folder, I then uploaded a replacement file. I then deleted the replacement file and re-moved the file back to public folder.
Do you have more information available, the more concise knowledge available the shorter the anxeity.

My Ftp sever errored, its report " Unable to make a connection. Please try again" when i use FireFTP of Firefox 3.0 and " a conection with the sever could not be established" when i use InternetExplore. Whats happend and how about you all ?

Found some correlation between non-working ftp and control panel bug.

Every time ftp isn't working control panel shows ridiculous badwidth usage.

Now it shows: "58920929 / 50000 mb".

Does it mean that I used 59 TERAbytes in a couple of hours?!

Example:

I upload files then delete files then upload more files.

The problem always seems to be that the ftp has timed out.

can someone help, is this normal server behavior.

I can't connect to a new vndv hosted site... I'm using host (mangoreader.uuuq.com), username (mangoreader) and password (same as hosting login) in FireFTP and it won't get past the login phase. Here's the FireFTP log:

It gets stuck on the PASS command. I know the password is correct, but anyway it does the same thing no matter what I use for password.

EDIT: After failing a bunch of times it finally decides to log in right after I post.

EDIT2: Okay it's just generally misbehaving. Uploads for really small files are taking forever, the connection is dropping, and sometimes when I try to reconnect it fails to connect to the server at all. I have a uuuq site and it's working fine.
