I am using Adobe Dreamweaver and Adobe Contribute to edit my files and I can't even upload them and edit them at all on Contribute or Dreamweaver unless I edit them offline and then load them when I get online.

This has been a problem for some time now and I was wondering if there is a way to fix that issue Jack?

i just found that FTP upload is very very very slow..
like minimum of 45 secondes for each files, even if it's only 5 K...
not very good, when we have a full site to upload.. and if I take the way of web page, I can only u/l 3 files at the time... very bad...

Brand new to zymic. Transferring site from 110mb. Trying to use FileZilla FTP to upload files. Cannot connect. Keep getting the following and I'm positive my password is correct. Suggestions?

I figured it out see the description below . it's from filezilla. I gave 9999 to Timeout Detection.

Keep Alive Settings:

Most FTP connections time out if you have been idle for too long. FileZilla can be configured to send Keep Alive commands such as "PWD", "REST 0", "TYPE A", or "TYPE I" to simulate activity and prevent the FTP server from logging you out. To use the Keep Alive System, check the "Enable the Keep Alive System" checkbox. You can also configure the frequency of Keep Alive commands by entering the time interval at which FileZilla will send Keep Alive commands. Please note that enabling this setting does not prevent servers that use no-transfer timeouts from logging you out if you are idle for too long.

Timeout Detection:

After FileZilla sends a command, if the FTP server does not respond, or starts a response but doesn't finish it, then FileZilla assumes the connection has timed out, and disconnects. Here, you can enter the amount of time in seconds that FileZilla should wait before disconnecting. If you have a very slow connection to a server and it always times out, try using a greater value.

Retry Settings:

If the connection is closed while a transfer is in progress, then FileZilla can be configured to reconnect and attempt the transfer again. Here, you can configure how long FileZilla should wait before reconnecting, and the maximum number of times it should try to reconnect.

Additional Settings

VNDV FTP is completely down, I can't connect at all. T_T

Edit: Why does this always happen to me? The instant I posted FireFTP retried for the 16th time and finally got in. It's still going reaaaalllllyyyy slow though.

vndv ftp uploads are extremely slow(100bytes to 450bytes{Yes bytes, not kb})
And when they upload its only for a second or two at a time.

I also keep getting disconnected for.

Uploads were working fine earlier this morning, 1am-3am.

my server address is griffen.vndv.com
my username is griffen, and my port is 21 (default). I test the connection, and it says that it will work, then i press publish, and it says: "There was an error communicating with the FTP server. Try again later, or check with your service provider.". It's really annoying.

This absolutely has to be fixed. It's taken me well over an hour to upload 100 files (with an average file size of 100kilobytes).

I'm using gftp on Xandros Linux eeepc, connecting from a cafe in Thailand, how's that for a config!

But I did the same thing from this same place lots of times, and always OK, today I"m getting 'connection refused'.

From the post above, user Vladimir, it looks as though the cafe owner changed settings not to allow ftp? Not sure, but he's not here now, I can't ask him.

I'll try somewhere else another day, and post again if there are still issues.

Why can't I get Dreamweaver CS4 to connect to my website, via FTP? Every time I test it, I get this message

The host is 'mywebsite.zxq.net', it does not require a 'ftp.' prefix.

I've done the hosting tutorial and subsequently downloaded/tried using FileZilla, CoreFTP, and the file manager on Zymic but I'm not seeing a new index or any of my uploaded files on my website, actually it's still the congrats page. I'm doing something wrong or missing a step, but can't figure out what.

The FileZilla interface that is popping up doesn't look like the one on your tuturial - it's just a split screen that says it's connected up top. What should I be doing once my files are uploaded?

I'm unable to use the control panel file manager nor connect via FileZila. With web control panel, it doesn't show the directories and FileZila is not able to connect, it keeps telling me I'm in a queue but disconnects me right a way (as opposed to waiting for the 2 mins time out).

Any possible help would be appreciated.

I believe they are upgrading their site at the moment and it should be back online soon. Many people are asking about this in the hosting irc server and apparently it says it somewhere in the forum. I have tried all of my browsers and it definitely looks like this cause parts of the site have been offline and/or slow to load.

I have filezilla, the user name is cultofmoo and the host is 90k.org. So I've read that the host is cultofmoo.90k.org and the username is cultofmoo_90k is that correct? I just cannot get the ftp thingy to connect and I want to make sure I've got the settings right

Ok... I have read the tutorials and everything.. And i can't get this to work.. I am trying to host an OTA for a blackberry theme. What i did was uploaded all my codes and jad. file on here and put them in their own folder. Then i went and read things off google and still can't get it to work. I am using a windows computer. Hey guys, I keep receiving the dreaded 530 Error: Login Authentication Failed.

I've tried all possible combinations (i.e playing around with the username/server address) but can't seem to get it to work. For the record, I'm using FireZilla, and haven't got any Firewalls or Apps which could potentially block it open OR in use. The full log is below:



Based from that log, I can tell the server address is correct, as is the username, and I'm positive the password is correct (I've changed it two or three times to the exact same thing, just to be sure), but I can't for the life of me figure out what's going on!

Any help on this issue would be great Thanks guys!

A vast majority of you are typing your ftp usernames incorrectly, please see the email sent, the control panel at the top.

They both state your ftp username.

As a practical example, here is what you username would be if your domain was 'mydomain.zxq.net':

No such luck, I entered every thing correct obviously, its the ftp server thats the issue

Nevermind! It was a firewall/router issue.

IN case this happends to anyone else, make sure you have ftp port 21 TCP allowed.

In my web control panel I could chmod folders with 770 only! My photo gallery requires a temp. folder which has 777 attributes! Please help me out!

In my flashfxp the chmod operation is even not allowed!
