I tried to go in my account and in my FTP and it dosen't work.

At first i thought that the FTP and ZHCP was down but i tried my other account and everything works!

That's the behaviour of an incorrect password. In the future it's going to be a whole lot more verbose (the login page that is).

If you can't remember your password, PM me your username / password and I will reset it.

i've just check the confirmation e-mail with the address and password included and it's the same that i try :S:S

Is there any reason that the ftp drops connections after like 60 seconds of idle time? Its kind of ridiculous when im trying to update and the ftp kicks me off, then denies be because my ip is trying to connect too quickly. Im using filezilla, and its the same testing it on core ftp also. Is this something my side? Or does the ftp indeed disconnect that quickly?

I figured it out. And the initial post does not explain this.

When you try to sign in to your ftp or control panel, do not use the password sent to you in the email they send (you know, that super-lengthy password).

Use the user name they sent in that email, BUT use the password you signed up with originally.

Problem solved.

But it would be nice if that was explained somewhere, especially here, instead of just being told to look at the initial post. And, furthermore, why send an e-mail with a different password that doesn't work? I mean, that is exactly why you are getting all these posts saying people are having problems.

What are you talking about? What you have said is not correct and will mislead the rest of the members.

Your Zymic main account password (for /zcp/) and hosting passwords are two completely different things. You have most likely changed your password and forgot that you did.

Logging in to an FTP account using the password for zymic.com instead of your hosting account password will not work.

No, I have not. I have just created the site, I received the e-mail and followed directions which you sent in the email. The password for the created site was generated by your site and was several characters long and included a-z, 0-9 and several other characters.

I tried that password when I clicked on login beside the account.
I tried that password to login to the ftp account.

Then I posted here.

Then on the off chance that it might work, I thought of trying that same username for the created site (sent in the email), and the password I used when I joined Zymic (the one I created when I registered, before I created an account).

And what do you know ... it suddenly worked.

I never changed the password. And do you know why? I didn't have to because I never had to use that godawful infernal multi-character monstrosity that was sent to me.

I am not misleading anyone. I am telling it like it is. I am a site owner actually and a webmaster. I write code. I am very familiar with computers and computer programs, even though I am using (tried to use) a free service like this. I bet if others tried what I just did, it would work for them.

One thing I learned as a webmaster is to try to duplicate a problem before telling a user that's not how it is. It's called good customer service.

Anyone who cannot log into their ftp, instead of using their password that was sent in the email to login, try using your hosting account login password.

oh my gosh someone help me i have to get this site up by tomorrow but i have no idea what i'm doing.

You've got the wrong username. As clearly stated in Bread's post, it should be mywar@zxq.net.

I signed up and went to use FTP, i entered the details that were in the email i got, as well as using my password i used to sign up with i am getting a message saying "The requested name is valid and was found in the database, but it does not have the correct associated data being resolved for. "

Pass- Both the one in email and my one i signed up with

Hello! I have made a SMF forum that requiereds FTP information to install packages.
When I fill in the information, they say that they can't connect.

I can't make the files writible by myself cause you must fill in the FTP-information for making all files writible in a ZIP-file.

Can anyone fix it please?

Just one thing on the FTP side of stuff.

I do edit most material I do in Notepad while having ftp open in the background.
Upload on the fly after editing pages and most of the time the 60 second timeout is a bit short.

Is it possible to extend this timeout a bit as it interfers pretty badly with the edit processes?

Hey! Just signed up about 20 minutes ago. I'm trying to transfer over from another hosting site to see which one I like better.

I'm having problems already, though- I've uploaded my files on the file manager, but my site is still not showing up. I can't seem to access my account on ftp and I've tried every possible combination of username and host. I've used ftp many times before and its never been this difficult to log in. Any suggestions about this problem?

I've tried to log in under erin.zzl.org and erin@zzl.org, which should be right, but it's not working. Is this problem related to why my uploaded pages keep coming up as errors?

You must create a database first http://www.zymic.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=536 and login with the database username and password. Next time do not post in this thread, PHPMyAdmin has nothing to do with FTP.

It's the password you made when creating the account...

the password when i created the account was $1$DZGyoDVl$Am/Hb5eLrIZRZld/4pAB90

and it gives me [Incorrect password] message when i try to login into the CP

I've tried to reset my password and the new one was small without special chr and it works ok for the CP but not for the FTP

is there something i need to do to get the ftp account work?

I am working on both websites and so I logon to zicky.99k.org, When I try to log in to ZCP with acc : zicky.99k.org it comes up with a message saying

"Your account login has been successful, please wait while we transfer you to your account!"


And after , a maessage saying :

"You currently are not logged in to a site. Please log-in through your Zymic Control Panel"

I'm having the same problem, using filezilla also. This has only started happening today, I was using FTP with reckless abandon last night managing a phpBB forum. It's likely temporary FTP server downtime, (guessing here) and should be fixed soon, hopefully.

EDIT: Having said that, the HTML method for uploading isn't working either. Hmm.
