FTP down again.

CHMOD allows me to modify it 2 directories down but no more than that.

Try chmodding from inside of the zymic control panel.

That worked but I'm still getting an error.

i just registered my web hosting account and i want to use FTP to put some files there. I use Mozilla Composer and there i need this informations:
1. site name ??? this is my real site name ?? this is like : http://manu-tmu.zxq.net/ ??
2. publishing adress what i have to write there ??
3. HTTP adress of your home page ; is OK if here i write : http://manu-tmu.zxq.net/ ??

I can't connect to my website.

I can't even connect to the FTP. I'm sure I'm using the right credentials and all, as they are saved and I haven't changed them.

EDIT: Never mind, I can now connect. Thanks if you did anything to fix it.

It's a very dodgy server(s). Are you getting close to finding out what's wrong with it?

Ok Thank's for your answer! What i did : i deleted the file index.html, i use FTp to put a file which i made with composer-mozilla and that file i renamen index.html and now work's. I wanna know now if a can put the name of my site to be www.manu-tmu.com ? i really want to be like that because i wanna put on my web site some informations of the book i'm editing in this weeks and i wanna after i realised to publish my book to put at the final of the book the name of my site : www.manu-tmu.com . I expect your answer ! With all my respect, manu_tmu!

To have the domain 'manu-tmu.com' you will have to purchase it from a domain registrar such as http://www.namecheap.com

Once you've purchased your domain you set your name servers to zymic's, then go to the account settings page and set that domain.

Firstly, their offer is a sort of contest. You need to have an attractive site etc..

Secondly, this isn't really the appropriate thread to talk about your site now that your problem is fixed. Getting a domain name has nothing to do with whether your FTP works or not, as far as I know.

Thirdly, I still can't connect to the FTP.

I'd consider this the best free host out there, besides the fact that OPEN URL is disabled (and it happens to be used in quite a lot of my PHP Scripts).. But right now, I'm getting pretty pissed off with the FTP. Take your time fixing it, but please try find out what's wrong. I don't have the right to hurry you, after all it is free hosting so I can't complain.

That can't be it. It's server-side. I managed to connect again today, earlier. Yet again no changes to my details.

EDIT: My site is now up again, but FTP is down. Earlier I couldn't even access ZCP. I tried Uploading files through that, but I get errors.. Firstly loads of PHP Errors on the top and then some user-created errors such as Error uploading filename.ext etc..

I have never had any issues with FireFTP before, but if you need the error I get accessing your ftp it is the following:

"Unable to make a connection. Please try again."

EDIT2: It was working a few minutes ago, I go again to upload, and it's down again.

The limit had been reverted to 50, it has now been increased, connections should now be a lot more stable.

Your FTP client should of informed you that it was at maximum capacity though.

I get that on this day when i using the FTP, can help?

i got this error today!! i cant transfer anything

I can get into the FTP fine, but I cannot transfer any files since I'm already connected once navigating through my files. :/

Yeah i'm getting the too many connections (1) error too. I use Cyberduck (for Mac)

I've created account for my site: www.fatalyse.99k.org and uploaded install files for some PHP CMS. Then I needed to change file permisions for that CMS setup so I called command:

chmod 666 .

in my ftp. After that I get problems with my site - it doesn't run event after I had deleted all files from ftp and added simple index.html.

Also in FileManager of this account I see only this line:

Warning: chdir(): Permission denied (errno 13) in /var/wkscript/www/fileman.jsp on line 585

and no any other things... like add files, create directory and son on...

Can someone halp me? I whould like reset this account and start again.

I am new here, so, greetings to everyone.
For me, FTP does not seem to work.
I use WS FTP, the server name I was given in an email is 'vlaanderen-flanders.99k.org', now a funny one: in the confirmation email I was given 'vlaanderen-flanders@99k.org' as username, yet on the control panel web site it says 'Username: vlaanderen-flanders'.
I have tried both, none of them let me in through WS FTP.
Also, I am entering the correct password.
Has anyone got any idea what the problem could be?
