Ok all:
Problem is just that the server has locked any edits to any of the saved files.
it's disk is either full, broken, or too busy
my guess is however that the admins are currently switching to the promised new server cluster.
we'd bear with them, and just hope it'll all get better...
am i right or?

I registered today. And the problem is that I can't upload my site throe ftp...
Using many clients: totalcommander,cuteftp etc... All data like login and pass is ok ( from the e-mail that recived..., also I read the ftp guide)
Please cheack this out webbl.vndv.com
The error is: 530 Login authentication failed...

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't notice "Read Only Problems".


When I try to transfer/edit/remove any file, the ftp client gives me the error:

"550 Could not delete <file>: Read-only file system"
or
"550 Could not delete test.txt: No such file or directory"
or
"Rename/move failure: Read-only file system"
or
"550 Can't check for file existence"
but it connects and list directories with no problems.

No problem. Unfortunately the tutorial only applies to the old subdomains which have a different format to the new vndv subdomains. I will get in touch with Jack to see if he can update this at some point, however he is a very busy person!

He could also be talking about the email if he was one of the users that signed up before it got fixed. I'll get on IRC and see if one of the other admins can't do it either.

Julius are you behind a firewall? Sometimes antivirus/internet security programmes can stop your FTP client from connecting.

Same with me!! I can't log in at all. It's been happening to alot of people too....

That 503 error was rectified a while ago and I just checked my accounts and found that the FTP is working correctly. Are you sure you're using the right password? And please post your site's URL so the admins can check it for problems that might be causing this error .

The same problem here, tried smartftp and fillezilla no luck-error 503

If you are using a vndv account, make sure you are only putting your site name for FTP username, e.g:

Host: site.vndv.com
User: site
Pass: [hosting password]


The older subdomains use a different format:

Host: site.zxq.net
User: site@zxq.net
Pass: [hosting password]

Hi, I've been trying to upload PHP - Fusion v6.1.015 and I can't seem to make it. (I already did it before, I just can't get it to work now.)

I've tryed 2 ftps, both of them worked before on another web. Reinstalled them etc.

When I try to connect to my web server I get several errors such as:

1-421 Too many connections (2) from this IP. (No I am the only one connected.)
2-Site name not valid or site wasn't founded. (Yes, I checked, Doubled checked and the name its correct(Server and Username). It isn't the password since I didn't changed it and it has worked before.)

There's alot others I can't remenber right now.

well i put xcatly all dis in AceFTP software to upload files to my new .vndv accout. It gave this error -

what is dis supposed to mean?? is the server down?? because i get the same error in my previous .vndv site wen i try to connect. I didnt change any settings.

I am having a problem with the ftp... I can't upload anything, or it just takes like an hour to start uploading things, I can still edit my pages, but I would like to upload stuff cause my members are expecting a wiki installation soon...

what i've fond is the server it self is going really screwy in fact its as if someones yanking on the T1 cable:

hi every one i've made a quick work around for the ftp probs were most of you just want to upload your files. so i've setup an online ftp client wich is just like the file manager that you get with your account but this one has zip and unzip suport so if you can manage to get the zip uploaded now you can unzip all the files in one go

but it uses my accounts bandwidth so its only temporary

I personally wouldn't trust using this, because you could have modded the script to log users information, therefore getting everyone's password. So unless this came from zymic owners I wouldn't use it.

Instead you can just download the script yourself from the developers site, http://www.net2ftp.com/ or google it.

take it easy, its free hosting, its not like your paying for support here.....

I use filezilla... Im trying to connect with it and when i enter my details (yes they are correct becuase ive been trying to resolve it myself for about 1-2 hours now) anyways when ever i enter my details

it does fine until i get to the pass and then it freezes and says "could not connect to server"


and yes the pass is correct I have even copied and pasted the pass from my email that you sent me to the ftp and still no response...

Ok im having a few issues here, is it me or is uploading to vndv very very slow? i spent about 1-2 hours gettin SMF uploaded and now it taking over 2 and half hours to upload sourcebans on in which im greatly unhappy about and ive had to cancle it.

Even loggin into FTP takes 2-4 minutes

it this going to be going on forever?

While trying to update my websites today I got this error while trying to upload everything. I am using Dreamweaver 8.

An FTP error occurred - cannot put <file name>.html. Access Denied. The file may not exist, or there could be a permission problem.

It did this for every file that I tried to upload, even pictures.

Sounds like you moved your files on your computer to a different folder or renamed the folder and are trying to upload the files from the "OLD" folder name.

Check that, FTP is working fine.

Just registered and set up a site! I'm using Dreamweaver's built in ftp facility and I am connecting successfully to my site. I can see the index.html file on the remote server and i can GET it to my local drive BUT when I try to upload ANY files I am getting an error saying that I may not have the correct permissions??? Any suggestions please??!!
