I can't access FTP at all today.
I am new to this site, just set up the page today.
Cannot access FTP at all using the info provided via mail and the forum post on FileZilla, which I download and used.
I also have FTPWise which I like but could not get to connect.
Host: skycougar.vndv.com
Username: skycougar@vndv.com
Pass: what was sent in mail, which is what I wanted
Port: 21 per the forum post
Cannot connect. Says something about anonymous user but I am using the info above - get the following:

The automatic timeout for most ftp clients is much less than the zymic response time - increase your timeout to 120 seconds.

Well, im using Dream Weaver 6.0 and all I get is " Waiting for server..." and stay there for ever and I havent been able to upload anything!

I can connect but I can't modify/add/delete anything. It just started happening this afternoon. It was working fine (but slow) last night.
As far as I'm concerned this issue about the ftp server exists since 2007. Why does it take so long to be fixed?
Hey, Is the server for hosting down? and Im not able to upload files into a directory I hvae called images, it says that is fobiden to delete, move.. anything its a mighty folder... so it seems

I am trying to upload 55Mb file and keeps re-uploading after 21Mb. As soon as 21Mb size reaches it stats re uploading again. Any idea how to fix it?

Using notepad++ with the ftp-synch plugin (which works great on another site I'm using so I know the problem is not on my end)
I can _sometimes_ download a file.
Yesterday I could upload the file back most of the time.
Today I can almost never get the file to upload.
I did go through the cmd-based built in ftp client too, just to try something different, but it's as bad.
The option to upload files via ftp was one of the reasons I picked zymic for this project.
I am using the free option, so I'm not complaining, I hope the paying customers don't have the same problems.
Apart from that it seems to be a great site, but the ftp functionally is vital for me.
Any suggestions?

Can you get an ftp log of the errors you're getting? It will help a lot.

Thanks for a quick answer.
I've been doing some more trying, at the moment it is actually ok. Just a couple seconds before it starts the transfer.
An hour ago it kept timing out (2+ minutes).
Is there any bandwidth limit for up/downloads via ftp?
The files I am transferring are really small, a few kbs each, and when they've barely gone through it says like transfer rate 16b/s
If there is a way to limit the speed for each connection maybe it's worth a try? I'd be happy with some 5-10kb/s.
I'm thinking that maybe now most of the european users are gone to bed and leaving the bandwidth up for us living in later timezones.

I been getting extremely slow upload and download speed when using ftp. When I first started uploading everything was blazing fast. no I get lucky if i can even transfer a file successfully. any help here?

How are you doing it?
I get this on other hosts too.
Try using a client like smartFTP
wiseftp... tried smartftp and filezilla and it wouldn't work either but will try others if you think that might work..

It means there is already a connection from your IP. your ip could be the same as someone elses if you're for example behind a company firewall, or if you're using a program that uses multiple threads, e.g. signing in multiple times.
Sounds like the second if you can see all your files. Did you mention what ftp program you're using?
yeah... filezilla, wiseftp, smartftp, any client, BitKinex, goFTP. It's a personal IP address from my home connection.

I'm getting the same problem... Glad I'm not alone, why are some people able to connect and other not?
I've quadruple checked my user name & password, tried it various incorrect ways. It's as though the server is forgetting to log us in.
I see some guy whit a same problem - so its massive :/ Its not user failut ,FTP down ^^

OK i get the fuck out of that host. It keep giving me same error (and if i try to disconnect and connect again it says Too Much Connections from this IP (2)) If it's not fixed to 2-3 hours i leave .. As many others i think! Here's the FTP Log

What client are you using? It seems like the clients timeout is set too low. 20 seconds is the standard, try raising it to 120.
