I just started using the service and the ftp seems to be quite heavily laden. sometimes it connects sometimes it times out.
exactly how many concurrent connections does your ftp support?

even the file uploader provided in the zymic control panel give problems sometimes.
i have been tying to upload a few files for the past one hour and all i seem to be geting is connection timeouts from firezilla and errors form the file uploader in the ZCP.

my site is raveesh.vndv.com.

could someone please look into it.

The server allows 2 concurrent connections.

Filezilla's default timeout is too low. Edit, Settings, Transfers. The top box is timeout, change it to 120, not 20/30!

Is it just me or is FTP very very very slow. The one-file-at-a-time is kinda annoying, but it takes 3 minutes to upload a file of around 300kb :| And that's not very usefull if you try to upload Joomla.. Anyoen else experiencing this issue?

It is a bit slow, but is faster at less busy times. You can upload 2 files simultaneously - you need to disconnect the viewing connection.

Hi!

I turned hunder forum pages to find the answer to my problem, but I couldnt find. ( but there are lot of same )
To cut a long story, i couldn't change file attributes ( chmod 777) or delete. ( i could delete the files in my root directory through CP but i couldn't rid of some directories and files in it. Can somebody help me?

it stuck there and timed out at 120 seconds and it wouldnt connect!
but there's nothing wrong when i use the control panel
i dont think its my filezilla, ive connected my filezilla to other ftp and it works hell fast
is there a problem with the ftp support over ur side?

I have fixed the issue, apparently FileZilla wasn't loading the settings after I changed them, I had to reload the program. All is running now!

I get this too, I am guessing it has something to do with PASV mode and the FTP server...

Help!!....

When I try to upload new files onto my site (http://jayceechan.vndv.com), I get an error saying:

I'm sure the file exists and I could upload files onto the site the day before....and I'm certain that I haven't changed any settings since then.

Just wanted to add a little something.
It seems to be going a LOT faster and smoother during 'off-hours', kinda from around 9PM EST, and other times like right now it's going INCREDIBLY slow to upload files via ftp. Accessing the site going is a flash, which is great, and handling databases via myPhPadmin goes pretty smooth too, which is also great.

Any idea why the ftp traffic is affected so much during peak hours?

halfway through uploading several thousand php scripts dreamweaver began saying cannot connect to host, could not connect because the server is down or not acepting incoming connections.
Did the server crash? or has it blocked me for too many drops im on dialup atm so it drops out a fair bit and has to reestablish the connection.

Please post an ftp log - This problem is normally due to using a wrong user name - if you have sitename.vndv.com, your user name is sitename.

You probably need a different login sequence for your proxy. Ask your proxy administrator for help, he knows the answer, that's what he gets payed for.

Bombidae - I'm really confused about your settings. It logs in fine, then tries to log in again, which fails. What are you using as your log in details? (other than password, obviously)

PS. Just to check - go to edit, settings. Where Transfers is, there's 2 options which mention proxy - ftp proxy, and general proxy. Check that both options are set to none.

That error usually means that the website if offline. You'll have to wait till it gets back online.
